There is always a very strong colour theme of rose gold in my shopping bags. If you make any product in rose gold, I am very highly likely to purchase it – even if I will probably never use it – I will buy it just to look at.
This month has been no exception as you can see..
Whilst I was out shopping I promised myself I wouldn’t buy anything as I am saving to go away in the summer. But then I walked past Sunglass Hut – and they had the Ray Bans that I wanted in the window. Teasing me. So I popped in – just to ‘try them on’.
I am a big sunglass addict. I have spent too much of my life savings on Ray Bans.
But, in my defence, I was once told by my optician that I have very sensitive eyes as they are a very pale green, and therefore I should protect them from the sun as much as possible. He recommended that I wore sunglasses even in winter and banned me from wearing cheap ones that let all the UV into your eyes.
I hear this as ‘make sure you go and buy yourself some expensive sunglassses – otherwise you will go blind’ – so that is where the addiction started. Doctors orders.
Long story short – I bought the new round Ray Bans and have never looked back. And if I do ever look back, at least my eyes would be protected from the sun.
Had a quick browse in H&M and came out with everything in the below photograph.
I bought the cutest rose gold eyelash curlers (which work remarkably better than I thought they would) and some little rings that I love for a simple everyday look.
I also picked up a highlighter powder and bronzing powder and my new favourite thing in the world – a kabuki brush. Not only is this brush the most amazing rose gold colour, but I love using it. It is the softest of any make up brush I have ever used, plus it is excellent for applying loose foundation and a thin layer of bronzer. Highly recommend.
Bronzer wise, I have always used Hoola by Benefit – but I thought I would test out this ridiculously cheap H&M alternative. I think I will probably always stick to Hoola for any form of contouring but this powder is good for just a quick all over ‘I have seen some sun in my life’ colour.
The highlighter is very shiny. It was my first time using highlighter and I have used it a couple of times but so far I am not in love with it. Anyone have any good highlighter alternatives?
I have used the same mascara for years – it is the YSL Volume Effect Faux Cils – and it is in gold packaging. THE DREAM.
Lots of Love
