“Yawn” Pyjama Party

It is totally acceptable to spend your weekends in your pyjamas, all day. It is common for me to get up on Saturday & Sunday mornings – shower – and put a clean pair of pyjamas on to commence my duvet day. As I write this I am sitting in pyjamas, dressing gown and slippers – and I will tell you one thing – it is not dark outside.

Today’s blog post is on one of my favourite items of clothing/outfits/things in general – pyjamas.

I have a lot of mix & match pyjamas – I went through the phase when it was only cool to wear over sized Calvin Klein pyjama bottoms from the men’s department. Lets be honest – that is still cool acceptable, right? And then I went through my Primark cheap pyjama sets phase at Uni – don’t even get me started with how many fleecy / Christmassy pyjama items I have from there. SO FLUFFY.

I also have baggy t-shirts from every single concert/school trip etc that I have ever been on, which I sleep in every night – so sexy.

At the ripe old age of 24, I felt I should treat myself to a nice pair of grown-up pyjamas rather than wearing the same old Michael Buble t-shirt every night..

So I went on a search and came across Yawn. Yawn is a fab British brand and they have the most gorgeous, unique, hand-drawn prints on the softest of all soft fabrics – 100% cotton. I went for the beautiful ‘House of Cards’ print pyjama set* because, well, they are just so goddamn cute.

And how perfect is their motto – Phone off, kettle on, pyjama time…  basically how I would like to live my life – but *gasp* then I couldn’t check social media every 8 seconds *panics*.

I was so obsessed with my pyjamas (as in the Michael Buble t-shirt has remained firmly in the pyjama draw) that I leapt at the chance to host a Yawn pyjama party at my house with some of my favourite people ever. This was one of the most fun days. There were a lot of pyjamas, but a lot more LOLs.

I invited some of my oldest pals over for this PJ party. I have known them all for a seriously long time (one of them for 22 years, one for 20 years, and one for 13 years). so as you can imagine, this was the most un-professionally run day… I have over 600 photos from this party… because no one could keep a straight face…

Anyway – The pyjamas we had for the party are as followed :

Pyjama set ‘House of Cards’

Nightshirt ‘Lovebirds’

Pyjama Set ‘Port in a Storm’

Pyjama bottoms ‘Take It Slow’

Classic T ‘Dove grey’

Nightshirt ‘Blue Chambray’

As normal, when girls all get ready for something together – there is a lot of swapping clothes. So there was many an outfit change throughout, as everyone wanted to try everything.

I LOVE the nightshirts. A nightshirt and big fluffy socks – my new favourite ‘in front of the fire’ attire.

I need to find myself some frames for some of these photos – too much love for the people in them. *wells up a bit* *Grabs phone to send love heart emojis to friends*

“Everyone look to your left..” Nailed it.

I can’t recommend these PJs enough – they don’t make you overheat in bed that a lot of synthetic pyjamas do, they are so soft and PERFECT Christmas presents for sisters, mothers, friends, grandmothers, cousins or just for yourself, because you need something to look respectable in when Santa visits.

As I said above – we had the best time ever. Thank you Yawn for all the pyjamas and THANK YOU to my mega babes Nevs, Ez & Char for coming and partying with me in pyjamas. A lot of love for y’all.

Hope you have all had a great weekend – and I highly recommend a pyjama party with your pals for next weekend.

xx
