Hello my dears and welcome back/hello first timers, welcome to you too. There’s a new outfit/style post up, as you can see, woohoo. Today, I thought I would do something a tiny bit different with this outfit post. Instead of just photographing this look in one style, I thought I would style it for two different looks, and ‘two ways to wear’ kinda vibe.
First there is a chilled weekend look & secondly, I went for a more working weekday look; obviously only suitably for those of you who have a pretty casual work dress-code – such as myself – as I am not sure how well denim shirts would go down in the banking/city world.
[A totally side tracked side note but I started writing some waffle about outfit posts so I thought I would leave it on here: Outfit posts & shoots are one of my favourite parts of blogging – putting together different items of clothing and hoping they look relatively stylish, finding the locations to take the photos, posing in the middle of the street with people staring at you like you are some vain weirdo. Its fun.
However – editing outfit posts is one of my worst & most time consuming parts of blogging. On a shoot, we usually take about 300 photos because I always panic that I look awful/haven’t got one decent photo. This is all swell until it comes to narrowing down the images to the few that make it onto the blog, and this takes forever. Well, it is pretty quick to delete the photos where I have my eyes shut/ am caught mid sentence with my mouth open etc. But deciding ‘does the coat look better here or here/ does my finger look less wonky here or here’ – oh my god, I get stuck for hours.]
ANYWAY
So as I said before, I will be styling one look for two different occasions and I will do this by only changing my shoes. Oh and tying my hair up. Ok, and adding a TINY bit of red lipstick to make myself look a bit more “businessy”/”girl boss-y”/”take over the world-y”.
Let me SUPER quickly introduce you to what I am wearing: The Mac/Trench coat & the denim shirt are from Next. Jeans – Topshop (as I said many times – I am forever living in my skinny jeans, these black Jamie jeans are my life). Trainers are Nike. Heels (further down) are from Aldo.
Another ‘star’ of this blog post is my new Cambridge Satchel personalised ‘Cloud Bag‘. Oh my god – can we just take a moment to appreciate its beyond beautifulness of life. I was very very kindly gifted this bag from The Cambridge Satchel Company (thanks ladies) WITH my initials in gold – I mean, is there any better colour to emboss something with?
I am genuinely & totally in love with it – it has a strap, it has a handle, you can use it as a clutch – WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED – all carrying needs are taken care of. (Also, quick side point -if you wanted one with your initals/name etc on a bag – embossing is FREE on their bags until Valentines Day – suchhhhh a good excuse to buy yourself a V-Day gift right?)
Anyway, as I said before, first up we have the ‘weekend, chilled, coffee-going, brunch-eating’ attire. Hair down, Nikes on, loving life.
Mac Attack: I have been looking for a trench coat for AGES. I have tried on many. I would say close to 20, all in different shops, and I still never managed to find the one I loved – some were too boxy around the shoulders, others were a weird colour, and the one of my dreams was about £2000 over my budget… Why burberry, why so expensive? But then along came this Next Mac and we are now best friends.
Next kindly gifted me this Mac & denim shirt and I am totally totally in love with both. I can see myself living in the Mac/ Trench (which is it?) all spring/summer/autumn/winter.

I kept this photo in because it made me LOL that I ever tried to do this an actual pose.
So bad at keeping my white trainers white.
I actually can’t remember the last time I did an outfit shoot where the wind didn’t try and ruin it. Nearly every photo we took, I have my hair in my face. BUT when we started photographing the second ‘look’ and I tied my hair up – the wind stopped. Life…
Oooh a few more favourites of mine that I forgot to mention before – my Xtra-Star Jewellery rings & necklace from the Carry Me collection. So beautiful, such gorgeous natural coloured stones.
And, of course, my nail varnish colour of the month is the ‘Shall We Chalet’ Essie nail polish. I am such a sucker for nail varnish ‘names’. I always judge a colour by its name and I bought this one because I had just booked to go skiing. I’m a marketers dream.

But first, let me take a selfie.

It was a very rushed eyebrow day – no judging for the two totally different brows on my face.
And now for the weekday working gal look.
In all honesty, I spend quite a lot of my week in my pyjamas working from home/ in tracksuits working in a coffee shop. But the rest of the time, I am at meetings and events, meeting brands, PRs etc. Now, as much as I would love to turn up to meetings in my pyjamas, I feel that it wouldn’t quite give off the right impression of ‘fashion & beauty blogger’. So I opt for a bit more smart-ish. I pretty much always stick to a nice top or a pretty shirt & jeans, so I thought that this look would be perfect for coffee catch-ups and lunch meetings.
This Next shirt is possible one of my favourite denim shirts that I have collected over the years. I love denim shirts, and I have few already as I think that they are the perfect ‘all weather, all seasons’ wardrobe staple. This one is so comfy, has a gorgeous ‘distressed’ design and its a really good ‘baggy but structured and not oversized’ fit to it. I know this sounds stupid but it is also actual denim – unlike many ‘denim looking but actually not denim’ denim shirts.
I am also a big fan of double denim. Or triple denim. All the denim. Come the summer months, expect a lot of denim shirts, denim jackets and denim shorts combo.

LOVE these details.
Also HOW CUTE is this road. Princess Road. I will live here one day. Because who wouldn’t want to write ‘Princess Jessica, Princess Road, London, NW1’ as their address. (I will be Princess Jessica one day).
Thanks very much for reading/photo skimming and for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed this ‘two ways to wear’ outfit post. Which of the two looks did you prefer?
Hope you all have a fabulous week.
