Fro-Yo at Sloane Brothers

Now – in my last post, I told you all about how I was turning a corner back to a healthier lifestyle. I was joining the gym and was planning on being a super fit, healthy, Victoria’s secret model body double by summer.
Today, however, I am going to be telling you about where you can go for the most delicious frozen yoghurt and brownies… Consistency.

But fro-yo is healthy right? (It is fat free – which is super). So surely it doesn’t matter how many chocolate biscuits you add to it, because it is all in the name of balance.

BEFORE I GO ANY FURTHER. I am having a HUGE problem with how to spell yogurt/ yoghurt. I have actually been scrolling through google for 20 mins reading debates on how to spell it. I have even been on the grammarist.com to find the answer. Apparently – yoghurt is the British spelling and yogurt is the American spelling – however yoghurt it is slowly being phased out over here and it is now perfectly acceptable to spell yoghurt, yogurt. I have been on the Sainsbury’s website and they are selling yogurt, whilst Jamie Oliver is telling me to make a minty yoghurt dip.

I think it is yogurt. BUT for the sake of this post – we are sticking with yoghurt. Because the place that I went for fro-yo (much easier) calls it yoghurt. So that is final.

SO.

I was down in Shoreditch this week for some meetings, and whilst I was there I popped into The Sloane Brothers Frozen Yoghurt Company on Brick Lane. Oh my god – this place is so cute.

Luckily, it was warm and sunny outside (which instantly makes you more in the mood for fro-yo) so the whole front of the shop was opened up, making it is impossible not to accidentally-on-purpose wander in off the street.

I met the lovely Joe when I arrived who showed me round and got my sister and I samples of the different flavours of fro-yo that they have.

Now. I have had some frozen yoghurt in my time – not much – I am not a frozen yoghurt critic/obsessive but I have been to a few different fro-yo places. This one is 100% the nicest I have had. They had a few different flavours whilst we were there (they somethings have even more flavours – at Christmas they have GINGERBREAD flavoured yoghurt) but we got to sample the Original, the Chocolate Hazelnut, the Dulce de Leche, the Strawberry and the non dairy option.

I actually couldn’t choose a favourite base. The original was so SO good – it tasted a bit like a cream cheese icing and it was AH-ma-zing. The Dulce de Leche (caramel) was unreal but I thought might get a bit sickening after a few mouthfuls – and really – who can say no to chocolate? The chocolate tasted like those chocolate Petite Filous yoghurts which are still one of my favourite things. So I went for a mixture of the original & the chocolate hazelnut flavours.

Zoe went for all chocolate.

The best part of Sloane Brothers is the toppings. 100%.

Joe was telling me how they wanted to keep the toppings are authentically British as possible. They had fruit and nuts etc but the best part of it for me was the biscuit toppings.
It was basically like going back in time, to your 5th birthday party. They had Party Rings, Animal Biscuits, Jammie Dodgers, Bourbons, popcorn etc.

And the other star topping : the handmade brownies. They had 3 flavours of chocolate brownie. I went for the salted caramel one.

Oh my god.

It was heaven. I could of seriously happily eaten a tray of it. So squidgy.

As you can see below – I balanced out my topping combination with fruit – For health. And safety.

For each biscuit, I had a chopped piece of strawberry. Again – it is all about the balance.
