Aperitivo Vibes with the girl gang

ASK Italian Cocoa Chelsea Aperitivo

You all know I love Italian food. If you don’t – please read my Instagram bio or any other part of my blog. But basicalllllly it is my life.

I was beyond happy when ASK Italian invited me to Venice a couple of months ago – and then I was so so happy to be invited back to hold a mini dinner partayyyy with some of my favourite blogging gals a couple of weeks ago. Literally the dream – friends and food – am I right?

If you missed my Venice blog post and also my Venice VLOG (which contains all the foodporn) then have a little click on those links to have a catch up with my trip 🙂

As I briefly discussed in my post from Venice – ASK Italian have come up with the bestest idea ever. And that is to copy the famous Italian ‘aperitivo’ tradition of unwinding with your friends afterwork – or having a quick catch up before your train home – or even just a quick cocktail and nibble before dinner.

Italian eating is incredibly sociable – huge big family meals, eating in little restaurants that spill onto streets forcing more people inside, or chatting to people that are passing by, huge tables filled with friends and wine (and a lot of Aperol Spritz). Italy is my favourite place to be and to eat and so when I heard that ASK Italian were introducing a new apertivio offer I was so excited.

Basically the jist is to encourage people to get together as often as possible to catch up on life. Even if you don’t have time for a big evening meal – just head down to ASK after work (between 5-7pm), order a couple of cocktails and they will give you a free Alto Garlic Bread. How babein’ is that! Also – (from experience) the garlic bread is unreal.

I therefore couldn’t resist to do this with some of the favourite girlies. We met for cocktails (lots of cocktails – all Aperol Spritz – which I am now a HUGE fan of thanks to the girls at ASK) and honestly had such a beyond lovely time.

A little soppy loving moment – but I am so grateful to have these girls in my life. When I started blogging, I was terrifed of being lonely – working form home, all alone, never having an office atmosphere or a ‘work wife’. But actually the friendships I have made have been some of my favourite ever. We get each other, we cry over the same stresses that noone else can understand, we celebrate the little things and the big campaigns together. But they are also there for me for all other aspects of life. They are all a support system to me and I love that I have so many incredible girl bosses in my life – that are my true friends.

Ok – thats part is over… Back to our evening –

The food was amazing – like so so amazing. All the different sharing platters and pizza’s were DIVINE so I highly recommend staying for dinner – but if you just wanted a cocktail and a garlic bread then it is SO GOOD. ASK describe their garlic bread as ‘a wonderful little pillow of Italian flavours fresh from the oven as the perfect accompaniment to your tipple of choice. It’s a jewelled garlic bread made with our signature airy Alto base studded with oven roasted tomatoes and black olives.’

I mean, get in my face please.

There are hundreds of pictures from our dinner date – I tried to narrow them down as much as possible. But it was hard – as food is my life – and also everyone else just looked so pretty that I couldn’t bare to part with any of the images.

I will also quickly link to my girls – so please make sure to go and check them out.

They are all INCREDIBLE at their jobs – and they all have wardrobes that I would kill for.

So please do pop down to any ASK Italian between 5-7 with any of your closest and dearest and have a good old catch up. So many things in life are through our phones (I know how ironic it is writing this on a blog – don’t you worry) and all conversations are mainly over whatsapp – so if you can – take an hour out of your week and head down and see people face to face. I felt so fab after catching up and laughing with these lot – friendship is the best (and cheapest) therapy.

All the photos from the event are below so enjoy 🙂

Thank you so much for reading this – and I hope you enjoyed it! Please do let me know if you head down to ASK before the offer finishes on the 25th September – you still have a lot of time to enjoy those ‘British Summer’ evenings

And thank you ASK for everything – I have LOVED working and collaborating with you so much – as life is a combination of magic and pasta – and I will always enjoy my pasta with you.

This post was written in collaboration with ASK Italian – but my friends, obsession with pasta and all other opinions are all my own
