London Fashion Weekend with The Blogger Programme

Happy Monday everyone. Today’s post is about my recent day at London Fashion Weekend. I was very kindly invited to attend with The Blogger Programme, a platform that connects bloggers with brands and vice versa.  LFWeekend is basically the consumer part of London Fashion Week. Obviously, LFW is trade only and purely for people who work in the fashion world or invite only. Oh and Lewis Hamilton. However, LFWeekend is open for anyone and everyone to be able to purchase tickets to shows etc, so everyone can get their fill of the fashion week world.

London Fashion Weekend (or LFWend as I am going to call it to save time when writing this post) is held at Saatchi Gallery on the King’s Road in Chelsea. I headed to Sloane Square very early last Friday and then went to meet up with all the other bloggers & The Blogger Programme.

One of my favourite parts of my day was my outfit. I was sent the top and skirt from Nobody’s Child.  I am beyond obsessed with this brand. Firstly – they make fab, on trend clothes (literally perfect Spring Summer staples) but also IT IS SO AFFORDABLE. My skirt (the Black Popcorn Chiffon Pleat Midi Skirt) is £30 but my top – which is just a little black ribbed scoop neck top that I knotted myself is only £8. I am a huge fan of minimalist clothing and this brand will 100% be top of my list for my summer wardrobe. I am planning on buying this skirt in all the other colours – pink, blue and white.

My jacket is from Zara – and stolen from my sisters wardrobe. I have been looking for a leather jacket for years – if anyone has any good recommendations please PLEASE let me know.

Ah – my babies. These bad boys feature heavily on my Instagram and other blog posts – mainly due to the fact that they have ROSE GOLD TOES. But also because they make me appear much cooler that I actually am.

Watch: Abbott Lyon

Bangle: Whistle & Bango (personalised = perfection)

Bracelet: Nobody’s Child

Bag: Mulberry.

From about 4 years ago. It ages so well as I literally use if every single day of my life. Not quite sure how it is still alive.

We then headed inside Saatchi Gallery, where LFWend had completely taken over. It was so fabulous inside – there were stalls everywhere, selling amazing clothes, shoes, jewellery, sunglasses, and very importantly – coffee etc.
However, shopping would have to wait as we headed straight upstairs to Toni&Guy for a little hair make over.

When we sat down – I asked for my usual, “just a big bouncy blow dry please”.. however, I then saw a poster behind me of all the different cool, edgy “rock chick” styles (all of the things I am categorically not) and for some reason decided to do something a bit different. Yolo. Or YOGTLFWendO (you only go to London Fashion Weekend once). Catchy.
So I opted for the side braid style.

So we had big bouncy blow dry on one side….

….And hard-core rock-chic braid on the other.

This is the face of someone who is not sure if they suit having half of their hair off their face

After getting used to it (from some angles it looked like I had shaved my hair off), I fell in love with the hair – and after being told I looked like I had Cara Delevingne hair, I was totally sold.

So with fabulous hair – we headed downstairs for the Trend Show catwalk (basically a catwalk showcasing all the different ‘trends’ that we should be looking forward to appearing for summer.)

FROW

I was pretty excited to be sitting on the Front Row – feeling very VIP. Thank you The Blogger Programme.

I was absolutely obsessed with these two dresses (above and below). Annoyingly blurry photos as I was trying to take photos on my phone, snapchat and my camera – WHILST watching the show. It all got a bit stressful.

So a few of the trends to watch out for are – Americana, Pop of Colour, New Romantics and Floral *insert Devil Wears Prada quote about florals for spring*.

After the catwalk – which was such fun – oooh and hosted by Laura Jackson (what a babe), – we headed over to Maybelline to have a bit of a make over.

Look at the concentration in that face.

They had a photo booth – in a MIRROR. So of course we played with that for hours.

I had already done my make up that morning, and I was pretty pleased with it so I decided just to have my lips done as I didn’t really want to take all my face and eye make up off. I asked a nude shade of lipstick, to go with there ‘Dare To Go Nude campaign’. I loved to colour – like a peachy nude, but wasn’t too much a fan of the texture. It was super dry and my lips felt pretty cracked later that afternoon.

After Maybelline, our itinerary for the day had sadly come to an end, so we headed outside into the fabulous February sunshine, to take some blogger photos.

There are a lot of outfit photos… Just a quick warning.

Sometimes I wear these shoes and think I look amazing. Othertimes I think they look like clown shoes/bowling shoes. However, on this day – I thought they were the best things ever. The literally glittered in the sunshine.

And that was my fabulous day at London Fashion Weekend with The Blogger Programme. I want to say a huge thank you to Amy for looking after us so beautifully during the day and to The Blogger Programme for inviting me. And a huge massive thank you to Nobody’s Child for my outfit. I absolutely LOVED it.

What trends are you looking forward to this Spring/Summer?

xx
